Jacob York is a sophomore history major located in rural West Tennessee. He has been surrounded by music and the arts his entire life and his dream is to continue the work of researching and conserving the arts for generations to come. For Jacob’s project, he researched wind band music in McNairy County and interviewed several past and present members of the local high school marching band. He wrote a newspaper article on his research, copied below. Jacob’s blog on music in McNairy County can be found here: https://amateurfolklorist.weebly.com/.
