Folklorists in the South Retreat

Folklorists in the South (FITS) 2015 Retreat – Open the Door: Crafting Creative Partnerships, will be held at St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center on Seabrook Island, SC from June 5 – 7.

The retreat is directed towards academic, public sector, freelance, community scholar and graduate student folklorists and is focused on making and cultivating relationships. It will involve networking, discussions, panels, professional development opportunities and field trips.

Participants will explore the Sweetgrass Cultural Arts Festival, discuss partnerships with Morenga Hunt, enjoy concerts and jam sessions, talk with guest traditional artists and discuss the traditional arts field.
