Upcoming Event: Crossing The Cumberland Concert

From Bob Fulcher, Park Manager, Cumberland Trail State Scenic Trail–

Join the Tennessee State Parks, the Friends of the Cumberland Trail, and the Tennessee Folklife Program on Saturday, May 19th, for a once-in-a-lifetime concert of hidden histories, wild instrumentals, and grand landscapes. The rare and beautiful music of early Tennessee is barely known, but it is not lost. Families and neighbors in the Cumberland Mountains still keep the timeless pieces and lyrics, passed down from generation to generation.

Hosted at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center in Nashville, the evening will include Grammy-stocked musicians like Jerry Douglas, Alan O’Bryant, and Stuart Duncan along with other Nashville musicians and legends of the Cumberland Mountains.

This concert directly benefits the maintenance and protection of the Cumberland Trail, a 300-mile–long corridor and hiking trail, running from Cumberland Gap to the edge of Chattanooga.
